Calling all care homes! The Care Professionals Benevolent Fund (CPBF) will be holding its very first ‘Mad Hatter’s’ themed tea party on the 29th September 2010 and you are cordially invited. Care homes nationwide are urged to join in the fun as residents and care home staff can expect a day of drinking tea, eating biscuits and wearing silly hats all in aid of a fantastic charity. But most importantly of all it will be a fun filled day to be had by everyone and sure to raise lots of smiles.

The CPBF would like to see 200 care homes participate in this event with the aim of raising £20,000 in total for carers who are in need of support. Nick Kershaw, Business Development Manager for the charity, had this to say about the event:

“The care homes should find the event relatively simple to set up as in essence all you need is some tea, biscuits and of course the obligatory silly hat, which residents and staff must pay a pound or two for the privilege of wearing. Of course each home can make the event as elaborate as they want and the event pack that we offer out will give them all the advice they need on how to do this. We hope that the day will not only raise lots of money for carers who are in need of support but it will also make them aware that there is charity out there that can help them”.

The CPBF relies on the continued support it receives in the form of cash donations and the time given by volunteers and is always looking for new faces to get on board. If you would like your care home to take part in the tea party you can request an event pack by using the details below.
