|
|
Date of article: 25-Nov-10 The 10 kilometre run through Manchester City Centre is one of the largest and most prestigious mass participation runs in the UK. Money raised will enable the CPBF to award grants to those within the care industry who find themselves in a crisis due to illness or financial hardship. Funds raised will go towards clearing debts and purchasing essential equipment, such as mobility scooters, for those who have no means of supporting themselves. The CPBF is committed to supporting carers nationwide who dedicate their lives to helping others only to find that there is little support available to them when they need it most. Nick Kershaw, Business Development Manager for the Fund, who only recently cycled 150 miles from coast-to-coast in 3 days for the charity, will be leading the 25 strong team with Chair, Guy Bosanko, through the streets of Manchester and hope to raise in the region of £15,000 from sponsorships. Nick commented; “having lived close to Manchester all my life, this is something I’ve been longing to do but never thought I could. Having found a charity that is close to my heart, the thought of helping the hundreds of thousands of care professionals nationwide is all the motivation I need” The CPBF is the registered charity for the care industry and is dedicated to supporting current and former care professionals who, through no fault of their own, have fallen on hard times. With their head office based in Poynton, Cheshire the charity does a lot in the North West to promote awareness and raise funds. The CPBF will be taking 25 runners to the nations favourite 10km race which is being held on the 15th May next year. They are looking for a strong team of hardy individuals who will pull out all the stops to raise as much money as possible for those who need and deserve it. Should you wish to take part in the event in aid of a very worthy cause then please contact the CPBF on 01625 872811 or email info@cpbenevolentfund.org.uk. |
